I have every stuff pack and every expansion pack. =)

I was hoping there was a global way to to enable cakes to be used/eaten whenever.

So, can you enable "Grab Slice" on the birthday/wedding cakes, so they are useable at all times?

I'm pretty sure you can only grab a slice of birthday cake once the candles have been blown out (even if the sim does not age, such as with stuck infant birthdays). Beforehand the only option is to "Bring X to cake" or nothing. Not sure about the wedding cake.

I think there are some downloadable "eat any time" cakes on MTS2 that can also be used as birthday cakes. I'll see if I can track down some links.

ETA: These are the cakes I was thinking of: http://nene.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=191615. A sim blows out the candles but does not age and the cake then becomes available for sims to grab a slice. There are some recolours also available on MTS2, just do a search for "cake" and you should find them easily enough.

Huh. I will have to go in game and try again.

Working on the McGregor lot in Riverblossom, I was testing some downloads and the wedding cakes only had "Dispose" available until I Wishing Well'd in a love, then they all had "Cut" for about a sim hour after Propose-> Marriage.

I will check with the EAxis base-game and FFS cakes, too.

Thank you all very much for your replies.

Hmm, I think I know what you're talking about now.

Those cakes that usually don't let Sims grab slices from until after the event end. So you want these cakes (from Buy Mode perhaps?) enabled for Sims to grab slices from like regular cakes which can be baked?

Exactly! I probably should have specified Buy Mode Cakes ("special event") cakes. I'd like them to be useable even when I don't have a Birthday or Wedding.

I would appreciate it Cheesy

Some of us won't have a Sims 3 capable machine until September.  Sad

Not that I plan on abandoning TS2 even when I do have TS3.

I hope you did not think I was implying you were abandoning TS2!

I am quite attached to my TS2 sims (the very first 2 sims I created - the day TS2 came out - are still alive). So, I sound rather standoffish/defensive when it comes to TS2 v TS3!
