having problems installing downloads from modthesims!!!!

no installer monkey I am talking about manually putting the files were they are needed and changing Delphy's resource.cfg a tad his does not work with vista 64 bit

this is what his says:

PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*/*.package

copy and paste the one I gave you in above post into the resource.cfg file. make sure it's in the root sims 3 folder.

sorry, thought you said you had vista. guess it was someone else there are tutorials that show exactly what files need to go where. I suggest you go look at them they are all over MTS..
I cannot help you any further if you do not even know what operating system you have?

got the linkes downloded everthing they siaded to downlode. the free town workes, i konw how to downlode it just won't install. they sad to 2-click on it but that gives a earrer.and the resource.cfg is a papper that linkes  to the web.
i have an HP and my sytems is good for any downlode it just won't work. i have Windows

tanis191798 the Free Town and all of the Clothing and Objects and Sims are all self Installing,download them away from the game,go to Documents put a Folder there Name it Sims 3 it will go something like:


Go to Document
make A Sims 3 Folder
(1)Sims Folder:Put all of the Sims here
(2)Lots Folder:Put all of the Lots here
(3)Objects Folder:Put all of the Objects here
(4)Vehicles Folder:Put all of the Vehicles here

Then go to each folder you will see a Sims3pack ICON press it and they will install themselfs,does that help any?

What I was trying to say was download the Items into any Folder that you make in the Documents folder,once  you have finished downloading.press each of the Sims3pack item button and they will install themself's and now they are in the game,is that any better

is the downlodes suppose to have a sime3pack? and where did you put the monkey to make it worke, also my computer when i downlodes it won't lest me downlode it dreackley into the place i had the drag and drop, would that be whay it is not working?

After you download the monkey installer from here

Then extract it to your desktop. Double click it to install. Monkey installer is a program that has to be installed. After you install Monkey installer then you can just extract any Sims 3 package files you download to a folder on your pc. It doesn't have to be a specially named folder just something you can remember.

After extracting the zip or rar files to that folder then just right click on each file. You will have extra menu choices of where to put the package in the game. Just left click on one of those location options the Monkey installer does the rest.

If you download from the EA store then those files are installed using the game launcher. Not the Monkey installer.

You rock Zordac  now its in the files but it dosn't show in the lunch?  it's not in the game how do i install?

If you installed it with the Monkey installer it won't show up in the game launcher. Only the items you download from the EA store show up there. You have to right click the package file and left click the destination you want the file to go to. There are 4 choices and I don't remember what they are. One of them is hacks I forget the others.

Ok. I'm not really sure what you mean by there in files.

Here is what the package files should look like after you extract them. If you have the Monkey installer installed correctly then the icons on the package files will look the same as the ones in the picture. The Monkey installer will setup the sub folders for custom content on your hard drive where they need to be. One thing I did not install was the resource.cfg file that came with the blur remover. I already had that file in my game folder. The blur remover works fine with out the one that came with it.

When you have the files extracted then right click on them. A menu will open. The file I have selected in the next picture is a game mod so I am going to install it in the game hacks folder from the menu by left clicking on that selection. Repeat the process for every .package file you have down loaded. It's up to you which folder you put them in really.



That's all there is to it.
