Alright, so this has been going on for quite a while, but it has really only just now started to get on my nerves.

I can't seem to get my sim women pregnant by just "WooHoo-ing"
And, if by chance she does get pregnant naturally, I no longer hear that lullaby music that usually plays.

But seriously, it's annoying.
One couple woo-hoo'ed twenty times in a single night and still no baby.
And I don't have the "Try for Baby" option anymore at all.

And I still can't help but notice that the majority of babies born are boys.
I rarely have girls. And I know I've been told there's nothing I can do about this, but I hardly have any girls! Anyway, back to the main issue.

I can't get sims prego naturally. I don't even have that option.
What to do?

Do you have any mods that have to do with pregnancy?  They may be out of date/incompatible with whatever expansion packs you have.  If you do have anything like that, update them or get rid of them completely.  If that isn't the problem, I'm not sure what it could be. Some of my Sims can't have babies, but they can always try.  It's sort of irritating. Tongue

If the game's featurs are being impacted in that way, it is almost certain that you have either incompatible or conflicting custom content.  See here:

As for working to get a diferent gender baby, see here ( the "Patient Method"):

The only pregnancy mods I have are the two that aren't to be mentioned here.
And I updated appropriately.

So I'm not sure what it could be....

Did you try removing them temporarily to see if the problem goes away?

That they're updated is good, but in no way precludes that they mey be in conflict with something else, or with each other.

Run Paladin's Hack Conflict Detection Utility to get a list of potential conflicts.

It is here (click Sims 2--Programs there):

Is your sim a Romance Sim? Romance Sims don't have the "try for baby" option and rarely get pregnant without the Tombstone of L&D cheat.

These are signs that you have a Silent Pregnancy mod installed.  If you want the TFB option to appear and the chimes, remove that mod.  InTeenimater_FlavorPak_SilentPregnancy.package is probably the mod, since you didn't feel you could mention it here.  Twojeff's SilentPregnancy mod will do it also.

...And I still can't help but notice that the majority of babies born are boys.
I rarely have girls. And I know I've been told there's nothing I can do about this, but I hardly have any girls!...

One thing you can do it when you start up the game, go into CAS to make a sim and hit the random sim dice several times.  You can then cancel out of making the sim or go ahead and make one.  This will reset the random number generator and maybe get you off of the steady stream of boys.  If you really want a girl, you could also save the game just before giving birth, and if you get a boy, exit without saving, load the saved just before birth and try again.

Thanks for all the help!

Turns out that when I updated my inteen mod, there were files for other expansions (well, I think that's what it was, only thing I could think of) that I don't have.
So, I deleted those and now my women sims can get pregnant naturally, they have the try for baby option, and the lullaby plays.

Thanks again!

In all the time that I've been breeding Sims I've noticed that the genetics program works just like how people work. In other words, on the surface, some Sims are just prone to having babies of a particular gender more then the other. I'm sure its much more complicated then that.

I've had quite a few that just pump out boy after boy after boy. And some that have had nothing but girls. And even if I pair a constant boy and girl spawner together, the odds dont seem to change all that much.

Though I have heard that if you save before a Sim is to go into labor. Not during of course. And you dont like the results, you can exit to the neighborhood without saving, come back, and try again. And you MIGHT get a baby of the opposite gender. And if you dont, wash, rinse and repeat until you do.

Well, for a while, almost EVERY female sim that had a baby had a boy.

And really, it started once I put in mods that affected pregnancy.
People have said that neither mod should have anything to do with gender, but after they were put into the game, almost every female had boys.

But, after a while, things started balancing out.

And after removing those files, I tested some things out.
I got a female pregnant naturally, then used a mod on another.

One had a boy, and one had a girl.

So, things seem to be working fine now.

The sex of the baby is chosen by the game at the time the Sim goes into labor, not before.

Mods should have no effect on that at all.

The way to try for a baby of the other gender is:

1) Save the game at or near the end of the pregnancy, before the 'There's a new addition' message pops up.

2) If the baby is not the gender you desire, after the baby is born exit the lot WITHOUT saving (doesn't matter if you choose a name or just keep the name as 'Baby Boy' or 'Baby Girl'). Since you are not saving, it will be as if the birth never happened.

3) Go back in to the lot and let the birth happen again.

Repeat as necessary. It may take a goodly number of attempts at doing the above to get a baby of the other sex; even then sometimes the other sex just won't be chosen by the game at all.

Well, thanks for all the suggestions!

I'll keep these all in mind.
