I had a cat, Uno, who had really bad arthritis. She liked to sleep on heating patches and such.

I have cats who like to tell me when to turn it from heat to cool and the other way round, so I know what you go through, Joy. Right now, I'm watching Taffy, an almost two-week old kitten with her eyes barely open whom I had to help deliver because she was breech, while her mama has a snack and then wash her whiskers. Why do I do this, you ask? Because I basically was there while their respective mothers gave birth to them and was actually the first to touch them because neither of them knew what in the heck they were doing at the time. Yeah, that's me. "Midwife to Cats" would make a heck of a Native American name, don't you think??

Today's a bad day for the poor, old guy. It's been wet and damp for a while and he's really feeling it. As frustrating as his complaining can get sometimes, my heart just breaks for him. Getting old sucks. Poor old, Lobo.

I think I might just change my avatar to one I have of him sleeping comfortably, something he doesn't seem to do so often these days.

I actually knew it. I'm a geek, remember? I'm also Irish by ancestry and fascinated with mythology in general. I also know he's called Gan Ceann.

There's a lot of things I know. Heh heh.

That is really cool. I'm not Irish(Scottish, actually) but I've always been drawn to Irish folklore and such.

A nice unobstructed way to an unblocked windowsill with full sun is appreciated by older cats, so long as the sill is wide enough for them or if you have a lounging pad attached to it securely. They also relish electric blankets set on low, or heating pads. Magoo got to the point where he wanted a warm to almost hot bath once a week followed by a hair dryer set on low heat. Hell, there were times I'd just get out the hair dryer and use it on his bedding every so often, just to make it easier for him to be comfortable. God, I miss that cat so damn much...
