Speaking of really odd foods, there's a recipe for "whole rats" that comes from...I think somewhere in the south part of China. They aren't even gutted out or anything.

But the bug thing, I have heard ants are really good with chocolate covering. They are supposed to be crunchy and some taste like black cherries.

My dad lived by a reservation when he was a kid and said that his Native American friend's family cooked dog and horse. He said he tried both, and that both were tough but not bad at all. It's all a matter of taste. I personally like really tough meat and would rather have a gamey duck breast than filet minon (sp?).

So why for you pick on other foods? Seriously though, hon, there are many worse things that people eat that most won't even consider foods, like grasshoppers or ants or even cockroaches. Those are the things I really consider gross but some folks like 'em! Me? I get at crawly feeling in my stomach when I think about it. *shudders*

I think I saw something like that on Fear Factor once. no wonder they took that show off the air!

So, how 'bout those teddy bears having the picnic with SPAM sammiches?

Well, we have tried the bacon-flavoured SPAM and we live. You know what? Eaten warm to hot, it's not really all that bad... That being said, I think I am losing my mind.

Maybe she was just really, really hungry and when you're really, really hungry the first thing that touches your mouth is always heavenly.

Haha, tell me about it. Like being pregnant or having "that time" makes me want to eat the weirdest things. I've had a few cravings for things that I don't even like!

Exactly. When "that time" hits, if it's meat or mushrooms, it's MINE! As well as chocolate.

I hear ya on the chocolate. I have a weakness for sweets now, but during that time, I try to keep lots of sweet diet snacks around the house (because I snack so much that I would weigh a ton if they weren't low-fat). I have no self-control when it comes to sweets. Especially chocolate or pastry sweets.
