Does anyone know of a way to package a Sim that was born ingame? I have a great one that was born to 2 of my favorite characters and I don't want to lose her. I've tried everything I know of.

I did a search on just that before and found this tute. Luckily, I saved it in case I needed it again because I surely don't know where I found it. Tongue

need Simpe and of course bodyshop you have already

open simpe
under file select Open - navigate to My Documents/EA Games/Sims2/Neighborhoods/________ - <-----the name of neighborhood your simmie is in
select open or ok
let file load - I'm guessing the more sims you have there, the longer it takes.
Once loaded - on the left is a small window with options click once Sim Description
box on right will list all sims in that neighborhood
find your sim in list and click name once
On bottom in plug-in view will be his or her photo and personal stats
At top of page select Tools/neighborhoods/sim surgery
sim surgery window - on left is pool of names for neighborhood's sims
find your sim and click once
under patient sim, select the use button
your sim's pic will appear
now selct export option at top of window
a save screen will open in your Saved Sims folder
you can rename sim or leave it as the one simpe gave it - hit save
close simpe and opoen bodyshop
go to build or clone sims
find your sim
select clone option at bottom of BS window
this creates duplicate of sim you just extracted
hit check mark to save sim
Back up to main BS window and select package sims.
Package your sim to a sims2package file and that's it.
Make sure you package the Clone of the extracted sim and not your real sim.  - This is why I'd recommend not changing the name from simpe one so you know the difference. Smiley
I hope this helps you and is easy enough to follow because I wrote this using the chicken scratch notes I took from tute. I was out of printer ink and so had to do by hand and well, I'm lazy. Tongue

ps. In the beginning, if you don't know the number of the neighborhood your sim is in (like I didn't when I followed the tutorial Tongue) you open Simpe go to tools/neighborhoods/Neighborhood browser - should see your sim then remember which neighborhood number it was.
Select the *remembered* neighborhood your sim is in and click open. then go to the part where you select tools/neighborhood/sim surgery
etc.

Edit: I take No credit for this. I found it by searching the internet for it. I Think I found it on MTS2 but am not sure. Credit goes to the original person who figured it out and wrote the tutorial. All I did was type it out here - probably not even in understandable terms. Hehe.

The FAQ is the wrong section posting help questions. If you look at this page view, you'll see, in big red letters right under "Sims 2 FAQ", "Do NOT Post Help Questions Here" ..

Topic moved.
