i yesterday installed the sims 1 double deluxe because my computer is broken and will not run the sims 2
i have downloaded oodles and oodles of custom content for it and now i dont know where to put it ive tried everywhere for answers and it will only tell me how to do it on the sims 2 and 3 as these are now the most commonly used ones

This should help you:

Objects (Furniture and Other Items) C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\Downloads or C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\GameData\UserObjects

Walls (Files of .wll) C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\Gamedata\Walls

Floors (Files of .flr) C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\Gamedata\Floors

Roofs go in C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\Gamedata\Roofs

Houses (HouseXX.iff) C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\UserdataXX\Houses
(The Sims itself has one userdata folder where as the expansions have multiple userdata folders representing the various neighborhoods)

Skins, heads and animal skins go in the C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\Gamedata\Skins

Moo-moo, I know you've been asked this before, so please take this to heart. Try to use proper posting etiquette, as per the site rules.

No leet/text speak - eg: Lets c whu cn m@ke teh most complic@ted l33t spek ev@rr is not acceptable. A lot of users here have English as a second language and have a hard enough time understanding as it is. To that end, please make an effort to use proper grammar and spelling. We don't expect everyone to have perfect textbook English, but the clearer you are, the better you will be understood, and the more response you'll get to help questions, or any post in general. We are not the grammar police here and understand typos happen and not everyone is a perfect speller, but if you're not using periods, commas, capital letters and a reasonable semblance of accurate spelling out of pure laziness, we will call you on it.

It's not personal. We all have to make an effort to ensure our posts are understandable by everyone. As it says in the above quote, we don't expect textbook perfect grammar from everyone, just a reasonable effort. Please, at least, try to use periods at the end of your sentences and capital letters where they belong.
