I just went to start my game. No new downloads, nothing added, nothing taken away. Last time I played my game it was intact with my custom neighborhood and all my downloads.
So, just now, I put in the disk and let it start.
Everything is set back to default, like I just installed the game.
No custom neighborhood, and my download folder is GONE!
I have never heard of this, and have no idea how/why it happened.
All I know is that this marks the end of my Sims journey. Having to spend the time it will take to restore my game the way I had it takes the fun away.
I'm so disappointed right now, I can't even explain....

Sounds like someone went in and deleted your entire Sims 2 folder in My Documents. Are you the only one with access to the computer? How about restoring from a backup? Did you even make a backup?
