Ever since I installed an update today, an error message pops up saying this.

"ERROR The Sims 3 Base game is Incompatible with your Expansion Pack. Please use the Game Launcher to update"

Gee, I would LOVE to, but everything is greyed out AND IT LOCKS UP!!!
What the hell can I do? Do I have to do a full re-install and delete everything?
I have World Adventures and thats all!

Please help me before I snap my TS3 Disc in half and take a baseball bat to my computer.

you can try a reinstall and don't let it install the download manager, worked for me. *Admin note: second suggestion deleted because it is illegal*

HappyThoughts, I've already warned you once about that and pointed you to the rule outlining our feelings on promoting illegal actions (cracks, warez, etc).

I've removed that suggestion from your post and am advising you this is your second warning.

Just one question, did you install the new EP before you updated?
If so, are you trying to boot the game with the sims3 basegame icon?

Looks to me your trying to boot up the basegame instead of WA.
Try boot the game from start, programs, electronic arts, the sims 3 WA

Just download the latest basegame patch and then install it,there's no need to uninstall your games or get rid of the patch. The same thing happened to me,and my game is working like a charm after I did that.

Turn off the capslock when you type in here, please. No one likes to be shouted at.

If you go to the sims 3 site the forum will have links to patches you can you can manually install.

If you are manually installing your Sims 3 patches, you first need to install the latest patch for the Sims 3 Base Game and then install the latest patch for The Sims 3 World Adventures Expansion Pack.

These links to the Sims 3 Wiki Game Help:TS3 Patching:Patch Download (http://www.simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Patching:Patch_Download) and Game Help:TS3 Patching http://www.simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Patching contain useful information that may help you to solve your problem. They definitely helped me solve my problems when I had to reinstall my game after getting a new computer.
