I always thought it rather unfair that children could be placed up for adoption because they were scared into low motives by ghosts, or abandoned by useless nannies while the parents were working, or the resident parent was abducted by aliens. I find it even more unfair that the parents can then never adopt their children back and the only in-game way of getting them is to move someone in who can adopt them. In real life, parents have a chance to redeem themselves, sim parents should get that chance too, perhaps by learning the parenting life skill introduced with FreeTime. If that's not possible, I'd simply like to be able to readopt the children. I'm fairly sure the restriction on adoption is based on the bad memory of having a child taken away, and I know it can be removed with SimPE and I also know I could simply teleport the children into the house and add them, but I'd really like a less-cheaty, in-game version. I have all the expansion packs and stuff packs.

So, tl,dr... would a mod to allow parents to adopt their own. social-worker-removed children be possible? Thanks.

If you have FT: If sims have the family aspiration as first or second aspiration, they have the option to get one more chance from the social worker. You have to select that option in the aspiration point screen thing.

If not: There are some social worker hacks that takes away certain things like the too hot/cold, or low grade, or social worker altogether. Don't have the links now, but I'm pretty sure someone can point you toward them.

That's handy to know, I had a vague idea that family sims could beg the social worker, but when she arrived after a ghost scare, there was no option to interact with her. Sadly it's too late for that particular family.

One time, I had a child taken away for hopelessly low Social need.  The adult sister "adopted" her and I fixed up the relationships with SimPE.

I think the adoption ban is to prevent "bad" parents from inflicting themselves on children that they didn't give birth to.  Would be very nice if they could get their own back, even if they aren't Family Sims.
