Backing up Sim Family

I want to backup my Sim Family so I can transfer it to a Laptop. How would I do that and any ideas?

Just one family?
You will need SimPE and Clean installer.
There is a tutorial here

But it is a bit tricky if you don't know anything about SimPE.
