I bought my desktop computer specifically to run Sims 3, but it keeps randomly crashing. It just freezes for a little bit, but I can still move the mouse, and then the program just...closes. No error messages or anything. Any ideas on what it could be?

What are your computer specs and what EPs do you have?

Are you running your game with cc?

Is your game patched?

I don't know the specifics (my stepfather does, though), he just told me it was sufficient to play the game. I have the base game and Late Night. My game is run with cc but it was doing it without cc as well. And the computer isn't connected to the Internet, so it's not patched. Is there another way I can patch it without it being connected to the Internet?

Are you on another computer now, or how are you online?

I think all ways of installing patches is online, whether you use Origin or FordGT's patch installer.
If you are able to get online, try using his crash log analyzer, and it will give you a rough guesstimate of what's going on, because it could be graphics issues.

The patching thing is more likely, though, because mine had tons of problems before I patched it.

Also, you can go to (start menu) Computer > System Properties and that will tell you all of the specs.
