There's no difference between male and female meshes in how to get them to show up. If you can make a female mesh (or rather, the recolor linked to the mesh) to show up, you can get a male mesh (again, the recolor linked to it) to show up.
You have to clone a male outfit in Bodyshop, make the mesh file, and link the recolor to the mesh. After that you can go about recoloring as usual.
The only real difference between male and female outfits is in the visual (male bodyshape instead of female), along with a line in the TXMT of the recolor ("gender" line for males is 0x00000002, instead of 0x00000001 for females, but you don't have to worry about this as long as you clone a male outfit).
So I can pretty much link my mesh to any male outfit?
