All this stuff is in objects.package.  You don't want to change objects.package, you want to extract the Eat - Fart behavior (0x7F8834C8:0x2069) and then add it to your new mod.

Just set the group filter to 0x7F8834C8 and the instance filter to 0x2069 and open objects.package.  You can't miss it.

Excellent, I found the "Eat - Fart" file and switched the TRUE/FALSE link from 5/FFFD to 2/2. Is there anything else I should do?

Test it.  In theory, every time a sim gets up to eat, they should pass gas.  If not, you'll have to do some investigation as to why.  Welcome to the wonderful world of modding.

Fortunately, it works pretty well! Thanks a bunch for the help. Now, I want to work on getting the Sim to fart in his/her chair after their done eating. How would I perform this?

At this point, I think you're ready to branch out and experiment a bit on your own. Fiddle with things a little at a time and see how it changes the game.  Look at other mods and hacks and see how they changed the underlying behavior of the game to acheive their results.   Don't be afraid of trial and error.  Good luck.
