Game performance tips?

I was just wondering if anyone had any tips/tricks or getting awesome game perfromance from their mac. I have all preferences set to the maximum, but my game still seems...'pixelated'. Any ideas?

well i know its been a year but my game used to be like that
and i got a new video card just saying for anyone who doesnt know
get good ones at bestbuy
