Yay! I can do this too. And with Gimp. ^^
So, people who don't want to pay for photoshop, can still apply this effect. Cheesy

Question: Where, on GIMP, can you find the "overlay"?

I'm working on an 'illustration' right now, so hang on. ^^

Edit:

It's right there. Although I think this is an older GIMP, I'm positive that it's practically the same as with a newer version.
Good luck with it! Cheesy

No problem, and thanks. ^^

Edit:
Btw, if you want to flatten your image, to sharp it a bit without having to save it in between: thats located at 'Image' --> 'Flatten Image'

I really need to know how you photoshop one image into another one? Like say I have a picture of a sim and I want take ONLY the sim in the picture and photoshop the sim into say a magazine ad for example... can anyone please tell me if there are any tutorials for this? I dont have photoshop, I have GIMP but im beginning to see that the two programs are somewhat similiar so maybe a tutorial for photoshop may have the same tools if I were to try it in GIMP. Thanks guys!

candiwax, when you first opened your image in photoshop , do you make a duplicate by pressing ctrl+J?
