Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder was born on December 23, 1964 in Evanston, Illinois. Eddie had a tumultous childhood, moving to California at a young age and bouncing between living with his mother, step-father and various family relatives. In his late teens Eddie discovered the man who had been perceived as his real father his whole life, his step-dad, was not indeed his biological father and that his true biological father was dead. This inspired one of Pearl Jam's most classic and well known songs,
Alive, off their debut album Ten.
Vedder's work with fellow Seattle musician Chris Cornell (of Soundgarden) and future bandmates Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready and Matt Cameron in the Temple of the Dog project led to the formation of Pearl Jam. Hitting their peak popularity in the mid-90s, Eddie and crew slowly backed away from the spotlight, releasing more low-key albums and embarking on less expansive tours.
This version of Eddie is the late 90s version, namely 1996.
