To enter cheats, first open the command console by simultaneously pressing Ctrl-Shift-C.

boolProp allow45DegreeAngleOfRotation true
    * Need to use the "," or the "." keys to rotate ("<" or ">") the object
    * Some large (i.e. multi-tile objects) may not visually appear correct at        45 degree angles.
    * Should not be used on windows or doors, as they will already snap to        diagonal walls.
    * No guarantee that sims can interact with all objects that are at this        orientation, but most should work.

boolprop dormspecifictoolsdisabled [true/false]
* Set this to false to use the build and buy mode in a dorm you want to modify or create.
Set it back to true when  you're done.

setHighestAllowedLevel [level]
* The current lot is the one that is affected.
    * The level is always greater than the default of 4.
    * There is no limit with regards to memory usage, which may lead to game instability.

changelotzoning  [ dorm, residential or commercial]

  * If you change a lot from commercial to residential you will  need to       download a seperate hack that will allow you to place a trashcan and mailbox before the lot will work properly.

You can find it here:  http://daydream.etowns.net/

More cheat codes and useful game information can be found in the README.TXT file in your C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\Support\en-us folder.

There is.

  You can find it here:

http://thesims2.ea.com/update/?pid=Help_patches

potential problem:  If you had your original game set for no blur, the blur will return after you have installed this patch.

solution:  Use a no-blur hack for Night Life.  It will also work for post-patched University.

University adds some new features to your sims.

  Now they have:
  • Lifetime wants
  • Influence
  • sims in your sim bin can now be merged into existing households
  • New social interactions enabled (17 of them that most Sims can use).

With University, the Young Adult age group becomes added.

Teen sims who opt for college become Young Adults when they become students at the univeristy.

Young Adults can also be created from Create A Sim when you are at the University neighborhood screen.

From that same screen you can also choose to send an existing teen in your neighborhood to college.

Teens can also call on the telephone or use the computer to move to college from inside their homes.

When teens arrive at the new dorm or college house they will automatically transform to Young Adults.

Young Adults behave similiarly to adults, but they can't get married or have children.

Time passes for Young Adults differently than it does for other Sims.

Upon arrival the clock begins ticking towards the ultimate goal, which is graduation.

Your time is measured in semesters now, each of which is 3 days long.  For each new semester there is a class to attend.

Each year is comprised of two semesters.

  The college years are:
  • Freshman
  • Sophomore
  • Junior
  • Senior
At the end of each semester your Sim will have a final exam to pass before going on to the next class and/or year.

Sims who have completed the final exam at the end of their Senior year become graduates.

The Secret Society could induct your sim into their order.

They are pretty easy to spot, since they go around wearing black blazers with a Llama symbol on them.

Be friends with enough of them and they just might come visit.

The Secret Society lot is invisible from the neighborhood screen.  Keep this in mind when you go about creating a new University neighborhood (although the game will remind you of this when you're placing the lot).
