ok - right click - save target as...  the wording may be a little different so may say "save location as...", but it boils down to "save as"

Netscape is sort of funny about setting up things, I don't use it, but I remember you can add helper programmes in the options.

Once saved to the desktop or my documents, or where ever, you will need WinRAR or 7-zip (32bit) to open RAR files.

Yup.  For some reason Netscape, especially the newest version (the one that I use) associates .RAR with text type files and tries to display them as text.  This usually happens when you have a direct link to the .rar file rather than an intermediary PHP call, etc.  Nor have I been able to figure out any ryme or reason to how Netscape thinks about this sort of thing.


So, when you get a page full of text like that you have two options.  First is to click back and select Save Target As... the second is that once the 'page' finishes you can just click Cntl-S, or Save As from the file dropdown menu; make sure that it still has .rar as the file extension and your set.
