Suggest Outfit Not quit the same

When my sim has suggested an outfit for their clients and they purchase said outfit, the client only does the spin animation but the clothing stays the same! Is there anything I can do do fix this.

Are you sure your game is patched? And are you sure you don't have any mods that affects this animation or any mods that are conflicting?

I have the same problem. The hack detection utility turns up nothing, the game is patched, I'm suggesting the outfit from Maxis original clotheshorses, and still they just do the spin and nothing changes. I took out all custom dressers, cash registers, anything moderately related to clothes/shops, and still it won't work. Ugh.

Really irks me when I try to change the townies' clothes to something more fitting in my Victorian neighborhoods.
