I have stuff to do. Checking posts on here, or simply browsing the net, I need to be able to minimize it, but it always takes so damn long to minimize it when I press the Windows button, and even longer brining it back up. Is there any other way?

If your computer can handle the additional resource used to run in Windows Mode, you can edit the startup icon by adding a -w after what's already listed for its Properties, Target.

For example rather than: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Glamour Life Stuff\TSBin\Sims2SP2.exe"
you would modify it to be "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Glamour Life Stuff\TSBin\Sims2SP2.exe" -w
Optionally you can add the resolution with -r 800x600 or whatever resolution you want the game to run in.

I knew the window thing, but THANKS for the resolution one! Do you think if I ran it in... w-what's the smallest res? Anyways, maybe if I ran it in the smallest resolution it would go faster? For all the help you've given me, ancient, thanks alot!

All you can do is try.  If your game lags too much because of the Windows Mode, you're options are running full screen or upgrading your computer.

Well, I tried changing the resolution first, but it's still at 800x600. There's a screen resolution area in the options, but it only has 800x600.

when you are running the game in windowed mode - the options are

-w . . . . . . . . . . . . windowed mode
 -f . . . . . . . . . . . . fullscreen mode
 -nosound . . . . . . . . . run with no sound
 -r800x600. . . . . . . . . run at 800 x 600 resolution
 -r(w)x(h). . . . . . . . . run at (w) x (h) resolution

Examples of  -r(w)x(h) are:

-r1024x768
 -r1280x1024
 -r1600x1200
 -r1400x1050

or whatever your monitor supports - but it is a bad idea to use a size larger than your current display resolution since you won't be able to see the part off-screen

I believe that would be switching from the game in full mode to Windows.

Thanks for all the help, but I have a question: how do I input the resolution? Can you give me an example? Also, cat, the Windows key is the start key.

I have mine set at: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Open For Business\TSBin\Sims2EP3.exe" -r1152x864

1152x864 is my resolution.

If you're wanting windows mode, add the "-w" to what you have

No, I know. But my resolution change isn't working. I'm just going to make another topic about changing my resolution.

Can you change your resolution in game?  If not, your video card or monitor won't support it.

Monitor: SyncMaster 763MB.

Video card: Intel Extreme Graphics (I suck, I know, but it was the best in '02.)
