Another very-much-smaller tutorial for getting rid of that opening movie which was cool on that "first play," but is probably by now a complete waste of load time. :smt120

1. Go to the EA Games folder where you have TS2 installed, (Not the folder in "My Documents") and then to the base game folder.
2. Now go to TSData\Res\Movies.
3. Look for a .movie file named "intro_eng_audio" (The "eng" part in the file name might be different depending on your game language)
4. Move, delete, or rename this file.

And that's it! You'll no longer have to click the mouse at the Maxis logo again!

Also, if you wish to take out the little EA logo movie as well, repeat the same steps as above except go to the game folder of your latest EP or Stuff Pack installed, and look for a .movie file named "ealogo_audio." You may need to repeat these steps if you install a new EP or SP since there might be a new EA logo movie file in the new pack.
And as for removing the Maxis logo at start-up, that goes beyond me, unfortunately. :dontknow:

Once again, happy loadings! Wink

Thanks for this!  Although one can simply click when the movie comes up to make it go away...

Well, after two years of doing that, it begins to become somewhat of a chore. And if you go off to let your game load unattended, it just takes longer because it plays that movie if you don't click it. That's why I wanted to find out how to stop this. Smiley

Triple cheers for Triple S! I have soooo had it with that movie. My teen will be bummed though, cuz he's made a mini-game of trying to freeze the movie at particular shots... too bad for him    mwah ha ha Smiley

...doesn't it load while the movie plays? I thought it did. It seems to take the same amount of time to load whether to movie plays or not... *shrug* It could be that I have 2435457567 downloads and it takes three years anyway so I just didn't notice...

Thanks so much!  I absolutely ADORE this.  Like Kere, I think it absolutely silly that they never bothered to update the load movie with every new EP.  Why not, they do it with the load screen?  And if I want to go do something while I wait for it to load, I either have to stick around to click and/or hit spacebar at the EA Games logo, or just endure the longer load time.  THANKS SO MUCH!!
