I am getting a new computer this weekend. The one that is currently running the sims will be sold to a friend. What I need to know though, can I copy my Sims 2 folder on this computer and move it to the new one? I don't want to loose my familys/neighborhoods/general crap.

I'm going to try my hardest not to get a vista computer. But if I did could I do the transfer then as well?

The easiest way would be to setup file sharing and network the two and copy the folder to your new machine. You could alternatively burn it to disk but if you are like me (lots of downloads and custom lots) that can take several DVD's.

I was actually going to use my IPod to move it.

The sims 2 folder is about 10 gb and I have 24 available on my ipod. I've used it to transfter files before, I figured it might work.

I am not familiar with the device but if it worked with other files it should work with your Sims 2 folder. Just make sure you have it all and it works before you give your old machine to your friend.
