Well, here's my question, is there any way to get the 3 base game neighborhoods back, without uninstalling, and then reinstalling? Because I deleted them, not thinking I would ever use them, and now I want to use them, go figure. Thanks guys. Smiley

Well the easiest way is to delete your C:/mydocuments/eagames/thesims2/neighborhood folder.  Upon restarting the game it should regenarate the basic hoods but important note you will loose all your other hoods doing that.

If you don't mind that than it is not a problem.

there is another way. I used to restore pleastantview. Lemme find it for you. one sec!

ok!

The "master copy" of the neighborhoods are stored in this directory:

Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\UserData\Neighborhoods

N001 = Pleasantview
N002 = Strangetown
N003 = Veronaville

copy the folder of the one you want to restore and paste it into your Mydocuments/sims2/neighborhood folder. Make sure there aren't any other hoods by that  number in there already. that SHOULD restore it. It worked for me!

Well since she deleted the Maxis hoods and create new hoods to replace them, I presumed that N001, N002 and N003 were replace by cc ones therefore I don't think there is other ways to do it since you cannot have 2 hoods with the same number and trying to rename is a very complex and hard one.  Her cc hoods must disappear in the process of bringing Maxis hoods back.

I think you meant for her to copy the original N001-N002-N003 folder from the orignal game folder but in her case it probably won't work. Wink It seems she wants all 3 back so there is not many ways to do that.

Haha, well, I did do what you said, Miss Doh, but it deleted my neighborhoods, and gave me none in return, so I don't know. Smiley

have you tried going into a different account on your computer? saving one of the neighborhood files from the game version on that account and transfering it over to yours? that should work too.

you have to delete the C:/mydocuments/eagames/thesims2/Neighborhoods folder then when you load the game it will make a new Neighborhoods folder with all 3 maxis/ea neighborhoods in it, deleting just the neighborhoods themselves won't force the game to create new copys.

you can also just copy them from the program files as was also suggested

I know, I did delete the folder, and then when I loaded the game, everything was gone.

how very odd! It's always worked for me and everyone else I know of that has done it.

well I guess you will have to copy&paste the neighborhoods folder found in program files

I'm about to load the game just to see if it might have taken my computer a while to put them back in.
