Hi! I installed seasons a few days ago, and now, I can't see the stars, moon sun or clouds. Sometimes, in a community lot, I can see very few stars, but they are very high (as if the camera is completely vertical). I don't think it has anything to do whit my graphics card, because I have every setting in high and there's no  graphic problems (no squared hands, no black mirrors, no red walls... etc). I'd like to know if someone else has noticed this and/or knows the solution.

I'd also like to know if it is normal that my sims change into outer wear every time they go out, and when they get into the house, they change back into day wear. So they spend a lot of time changing clothes. I have even tried to make them change into outer wear and be in those clothes inside, but as soon as they leave the room they have changed in, they change back. Does someone know how to fix this? Thanks.

I'm not sure if the 'boolprop UseShaders true' code would help with making your stars/clouds show up again... I know it helps to make the fish and new pool animations appear, but I don't know about the rest... Maybe someone else knows more about this...

As for the Outerwear, have you placed the new coat rack (which is located under the wardrobes/dressers section) somewhere in the house? That's what makes them automatically change into Outerwear when they go outside, as far as I know.

The coatrack doesn't automatically make them change. The external temperature is what does it. I have found with my sims that they don't start automatically changing into outerwear until the second, in some cases the 3rd, day of winter and they stop changing automatically about 2 or 3 days into spring

If you made them change with the coatrack then they should stay in outerwear even indoors - do you have some sort of clothing hack in your game?

One of the maxoids, Maxoid Sam, I think, posted about this in his blog. Clothes changing is part of the game based on out side weather. If it was a cold summer day they would autonomously change into outer ware. It is based soley on the temperature of a given day, not on the season.

Well, my problem isn't that they don't change... it is that they change too much!! Every time they want to go out, they change, and when they get back in, they change into normal clothes if they go out again,  they change again and as soon as they enter, they change yet again... It's boring and I thougth that I would have to decide when to get them into warmer clothes. I'd have liked to send them outside in normal clothes and see them get cold...

Ok, I've managed to make the stars appear (I'm not so lucky with the clouds, not even with the shadow cheat) but it still isn't what it was. I've had to put one option (the only one that has 4 choices... Something about the distance) in very high; Still, the stars don't cover the whole sky, and before, with this option, they did (at least I'd swear they did) and I can only see them with the free camera... But I seem to remember that I could see them with the 'normal' camera too. I wonder... does someone know if it can get better (with a new card) or this is the best I can get?

simskin - I have seen many complaints about this - and I have to believe it relates to the changes in Seasons for the way layers of images are handled.  It is possibly even a bug related to some video cards that is not documented by EA.  If I find an authorative answer on how to resolve this, I will post a sticky.

The sun is visible only if I click an option called something like far distance view... and click it on the extra large. But the sun is visible only in the camera mode and only if I go up.Then the sun appears partially. As I go up the sun appears like in the photos below. It's like an invisible wall stands between the camera and sun.The same happens with the moon. But the clouds and stars..it's like they don't exist.

yes - that is what I have seen on several forums and I believe it relates to the "shaders" - but not knowing if it is specific to certain video cards, I hesitate to offer a solution.

Well, at least now I'm not the only one with this problem :smt120 ... My case is exactly as Simskin describes (sorry if my post wasn't that clear, but english is not my language); and my card is decent (at least I thought so when I spent my money on it) If it is of any help, it's an ATI RADEON 9550 Xpress with 256 Mb. I thought the clouds would appear with the cheat, but they don't. Well, I've stopped whining :topic cl: ...  for now

With View Distance set to extra large and Fade Distance set to extra large, I'm seeing the sun, moon, and stars just fine.  I haven't tried elevating the camera to see if part of the sky is clipped though.

What may have happened is the installation of Seasons may have determined your video card and RAM, then selected what it decided was the optimal graphic settings for your game.  Go through the Options and make sure you have the settings you want, not what programmers at EA decided you should have.

Now that is something I didn't think to consider Ancienthighway.  That too would be a potential source of the problem, I so rarely have to enter that part of the game it didn't immediately occur to me to consider it *doh!*
