Sorry guys, looks like I have another little problem. I just got an external hard drive and copied all my sims files to it. However, when I open 'body shop' (where I make all of my sims), It loads all the settings as if I never used it, then when finished I have a EA Games file in my regular hard drive and no custom content shows up! Also, when I load my game, all my neighborhoods, custom and non-custom, have been deleted. My question is, Is there any way to fix this w/o re-installing for the fourth time?!
I've tried everything I can think of and nothing is working...Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
thanks,
candiwax

Did you move your files from "My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 folder" to the external drive?

if so this post should help. http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=27133

okay...i did that but it's still not working,
when I moved 'my documents' into the external, it came up as applications and then started body shop from scratch again.

like, once I moved it into my external, there is now a folder labeled 'Applications" and inside of that there is a 'Sims 2' folder, but nothing in it.

For some mysterious reasons, which only Aspyr may know, TS2 seems to be the only Mac application which works only if placed in specific places on the hard disk. If you install TS2 in the Application folder, as logic may suggest, instead of Macintosh HD root, or a "Games" folder in your account, the game may not work, or act strange.

I'm sorry but I don't know any solution other than re-place the game folder and documents one where they were before Sad.

All this mess should be related with the invisible extension Aspyr put on game related folders (".localized"), to recognize the correct ones; I've made some experiments in the past, but with no much luck, I'm afraid.

sorry, I'm confused...does this mean that I cannot put my game on my external HD?

It is quite possible, yes.

Perhaps should be possible to install the game, and then all its EPs from scratch, in another hard disk, but not move the game folder _after_ the installation. It's only a guess, I'm afraid, I've never tried this.
