I have removed recenlty downloaded hacks and my computer will not run Pets

The cd is not scratched

I go into My Computer and I can see that it recognizes the Pets cd, but when I click on it I am told to insert the Pets cd

What could be going on?

I dont have pets but, there may be more than one disk required and should be installed in a specific order. You may have a virus protection program unabling you to install, try turing it off.

Try backing up your Sims 2 files (from My Documents) to another location and then uninstall Pets and reinstall it. You may have somehow removed something from your registry or the game files without even knowing it.

thanks

I installed pets a week ago in the correct order

To remedy this, I scanned my computer for viruses and restarted the computer and the game loaded again

I see you found out the problem, but for anyone else reading this, viruses or other harmful programs can cause these problems with computers not being able to read or run a disk.  I had this problem on my older PC and I couldn't run ANY disk on the computer for over a year, until I got a new computer because the computer was damaged beyond repair from different malwares...stupid Norton Antivirus.
