uploading story without using storyteller in game

I am in the process of creating a story where I have edited some of the photos using GIMP.  I would like to know what format to use to when I am ready to upload.  Also what size should these photos be?  Is there a tutorial explaining this?  I've looked and have not been able to locate anything.

Any advise would be appreciated.

If you take a look in the contest central of the contest section there's a couple threads there on taking and posting pictures.  These should answer all of your questions, but if not feel free to ask there.
