Doors Windows and Crashing oh my....

I have a number of problems right now....
1. I cannot place doors or windows when building (or remodeling) a house. Why??
2. Sometimes when I click an item in the buy catalog my game freezes and I have to restart. The first time it was a counter of some sort, the second one was the Toy Making Bench. Both are Maxis Original items...

What I've done- I use sims 2 clean installer and found (and deleted) all hacks. I scanned files with Norton Anti-Virus and it showed no problems. I also did a cookie cleaning scan which showed nothing. What's going on?? This REALLY annoys me. Please help before I go insane....:blob6: Too late....

Open the cheat window with Ctrl-Shift-C.
Type in "boolprop snapobjectstogrid true" and press Enter.
Type in "moveobjects off" and press Enter.
You should now be able to place your doors and windows.

If you are using See Them, configure it so snap and move objects are set as above and you won't ever have this problem again.
