Okay when i'm playing the game sometimes rather than playing in windowed mode (i'm blind I need full screen LOL!!) I ALT+TAB to minimize and work with other programs.  Sometimes when I return to the game after its been minimized the graphics jump and are well .. the plumbbobs and hair arent solid anymore when I move the camera its like they are a "screen" if you will.. like the same look as the screen of a screen door. I tried to take pics of it, but even the camera wont work when I return to the game.  I usually have to reboot the game several times in order to minimize/play without issue.

Has this happened to anyone before?  How did you solve it?

Let me know if you need to know my specs or if you need a better description of the problem.

Thank you!

You mean this...

I was able to take a vid of it. One neighborhood vid and one in lot vid. I've updated all my drivers and it still exists. I also took out all CC. The hair, windows and other stuff I agree, look like screens on a front door. Mine happens even when I've just started the game. It just started doing it a few days ago. It started out when I minimized from full screen to desktop and now it just happens all the time.

I've included my dxdiag log.

Just wondering what your system specs are.
Are you having video drop out issues?
Have you noticed any probs when you're playing a video file?

Thats EXACTLY IT!!
It only happens when I minimize to desktop and return to the game.
Sometimes it does it but today I minimized several times without any problems.

@John

I have no video drop out issues.
I have an AMD Athlon X2 64 4200 I believe for processor
GeForce 7300 Graphics Card..
DirectX 10 all drivers are up to date. The game runs incredibly well, besides this.
No problems running video files either.

Yakov says that DirectX doesn't like being Alt-tabbed. Maybe that's what he meant when he said that.

I used to be able to Alt+Tab all the time until recently when it started to 'screen out' on me. If I run in windowed mode, it's fine. I can just start up the game and it does it, not Alt+Tab involved. I'll try to reinstall.

ETA: I have a 7300 too! Nvidia GeForce 7300 LE 256MB.

lmao @ kamikaze mama!!

@Piper, I have the 7300 thats not the LE though, forget which one lol. I have 256MB also.
I'm thinking that an uninstall/reinstall of the drivers could possibly help too.

I've never played in windowed mode before, I should probably try it out.

I was also thinking did you recently upgrade to DirectX10 from DirectX9?
Im asking because I could alt/tab to my desktop all the time with no issues using DirectX 9.0

My computer came with DirectX10. I did the reinstall of drivers and it still happened. I'm going to reinstall the game and see if it does it after that. I'm not going to Alt+Tab. I don't do it that often and if I really need to, I'll run in windowed mode.

*Update* I did a clean reinstall with no cc and alt+tab'ed several times and nothing happened. It could be an 'over time' thing with our video card unless someone else with a different card is in our boat.

Well I just got my new PC and it came with DirectX 10 and with it I got a new graphics card. Also tons of CC lol, I think its probably the DirectX 10 because my old PC with DirectX 9 never gave me issue when I would alt/tab. I'm glad you got the problem fixed. I'm working on running in windowed mode when I really need to have access to my desktop and that should fix it for me.

I alt+tabbed for a while last night and when I went back to the game, it did it again. I do believe it's a graphics card issue. I am going to test the monitor though. The one I'm using is a friend's (his comp is busted) and it only goes up to 60 for refresh rate. What was your's set at Cinamun?

*Update*

I switched monitors and it was fine, no 'screens'. My specs were 1152x864 and a refresh rate of 75. I switched monitors again and changed the 'problem' monitor to the same specs and so far no problems.
