I have no clue how to actually run this business. I'm not sure how I want to use this lot, either. In my test hood, however, I just had a random sim buy the lot. I made him hire the necessary employees and then sent him home. I took another family there to make sure everything was functional and worked. It's good and I'm probably going to play it like that in my main hood. I can't multi-task to that level when I try to run a business, I won't even try.

Small Businesses of Chicago's Southwest Side

Ok, I forgot to rename the lot when I was finished building. 2 of the little shops were located on 59th and Kedzie. I used to love going here in my youth. At Nicky's you can order anything from a "Chicago Dog" to some chili. Good eats! Mitz has been closed down for years. She was a tiny shop that sold the BEST dollhouse furniture ever. She probably sold other things, but being a child with a dollhouse, I never noticed. She also served tea to her patrons while they were browsing which is why I chose to honor her with a little tea shop in my game. Red 7 Salon is a fancy salon downtown. They are new and I've never been. I found them online and love the homey feel of the place. Classic luxury, I love it. They needed to be part of this lot.

ETA: I didn't take pictures of the apartment because I was getting pissed about my crappy graphics. I think I need to get rid of some CC again...

Yep. Marshall Fields is coming up right after I finish building and play-testing the lots I'm working on right now. That's why I'm looking for a clock like the one in the bottom pic.

Thanks for all your comments everyone! They are appreciated.

I can't wait for the new lots. These give me a little piece of my hometown to put in my game. Actually, I'm leaving for Chicago Friday. Three weeks away from Louisiana.

Wow I didn't know there were so many people here who have been to Chicago and know the area so well. Thanks guys. I don't think we're all so far apart.
