I gave you writer Susan Sontag, so I felt like I also had to give you photographer Annie Leibowitz. Although the two women were longtime companions, they never spoke about their relationship. It was only after Sontag died that Leibowitz told a reporter: "Call us 'lovers.' I like 'lovers.' You know, 'lovers' sounds romantic. I mean, I want to be perfectly clear. I love Susan."

Here's Annie Leibowitz during a shoot of singer Justin Timberlake.

Leibowitz is the world’s most famous photographer. She joined the staff of Rolling Stone soon after it launched, and her photos -- especially the famous image of a naked John Lennon embracing Yoko Ono -- helped define the magazine. Today she is known for provocative shots in Vanity Fair, including a nude Demi Moore taken when she was more than eight months pregnant.

Leibowitz is one of only two living photographers to have an exhibit in Washington D.C.’s National Gallery. She’s been a cartoon on The Simpsons. A wax image of her appears in Madame Tussaud’s in New York City. In this day and age, how many artists are celebrities?

Special bonus: I've also uploaded a poster-sized version of her Rolling Stone cover. You can see it in one of the pictures below.

Credits: The hair, by Flora at XM Sims, can be found here. If it looks a little different, it’s because I recolored it and chopped it back to make it resemble Leibowitz’s unkempt do. I also made the bags under her eyes and the wrinkles around her eyes and mouth. (Hey, she’s no spring chicken.)  The brows and the lipstick are by Heleane, and the eye shadow is by our own Zephyrash. I packaged her with Maxis clothes, except for the cool glasses. Those are by Simcribbling’s Louis and can be found here.

If you want to download Susan Sontag -- and they do belong together, right? -- you can find her here.

She's an icon, and I really like that someone cares to do non-model/acter celebs too. Thank you.

Fantastic!  Cool idea, and so nicely executed.
It's lovely to have some variety in celebrity simland. I love the idea of sim intellectuals!  Now, if we could just set turn-ons to include knowledge and skill... that's one of my biggest wants for this game.

another incredible likeness, and of someone so special, not just some 2-bit celeb.  i've had susan living in my downtown 'hood, and will move annie in with her the next time i fire up my game, thanks ! Smiley

Now, if we could just set turn-ons to include knowledge and skill...
oh man, that would be fantastic along with lack of knowledge & skills being a turn off !  the maxis turn ons/turn offs are so juvenile, gah.
