Thank you everyone for the positive response to this some-what imperfect offering Smiley

PegasusDiana, that is very kind of you to offer, I would gladly accept if I could discover the cause of the error in the way the mesh is handling the transparency.  The problem I am facing here is that when I change the MatDef in SimPE, the textures appear to paint onto the inner surface of the group, and then all manner of visual problems occur.  I tried a variety of settings in the MatDef, but in every instance when I got the wires to display properly, the rest of the group went to hell. Sad

I am continuing to experiment and compare the way this is handled in other objects, but so far no progress.  I won't give up, I will set it aside until I finish a couple of sets of counters for the Artists' Loft series and  the Post Modernist series.

Thanks to the surgical intervention of Monshanjik, the rings on the notebooks display as I wanted them too.  *big squishy man hug to Monshanjik*

Great desk. Love the wood you used. I am so picky on wood textures. So many look well unreal to me. You have mastered it though.
Great work!!!

Thank you.

I verbally abuse my software all the time.  I find it quite cathartic.

I really like this desk, thanks for sharing.
