Game keeps crashing

I've installed all the expansion packs up to seasons. My game crashes when I try to save it and either quit or go into the neighbourhood and then my computer restarts itself. I think the specifications for my pc should be fine, it's an XP. Could anyone tell me what's wrong with it and how to fix it? Thanks.

According to Maxis it will be the drivers of your video card. Update them!
I had this problem, and found [apart from updating the vc driver] closing background tasks seems to have cured the problem [fingers crossed]

Click on start>run, then type in dxdiag and hit enter. The directx diagnostic tool will open, and you'll see a tab titled "display". Click on that; it will show you what video card you have.

It's an ATI Mobility Radeon X1600.
