Hi'
I thought I'd do a write up on sims 2 and lag issues people are facing to make them relaise that the lag is all over the spectrum of PC's ranging from low-mid-to-high.

First of all everbody knows about the major loading lag points in sims2

E.G
1:- people coming to house and going.
2:- Changing in and out of clothes.
3:- Cars arriving and going.

In my case:-
I'd just like to say that a higher end graphics card can slow down the performance of the sims2 as I had found when I replaced my Gigabyte 7600GS with a  Sapphire Ati X1950pro 512mb.

Of course the frame speed went up and some object texture detail with the same game video setting.

But. . . .

When it comes to the three things I have mentioned, the loading time gap is  even more noticable.

Solutions
1:-I have found to solve this at the moment is by reducing all video settings to at least medium.
2:-Go back to the previous GPU (duh)

So sometimes a better GPU does not solve the lag problem infact it may cause more lag.

With ths system the loading lag is pretty bad if the Texture detail is high.

System specs:-
P4 3.0E HT @ 3.2Mhz
ASucks P4P800SE
Sapphire ATi X1950pro 512mb
2x1GB dualchannel RAM @ 430Mhz
Audigy 2 ZS
160GB SATA
80GB IDE

If anyone has a story similar.
Or has thier own answer to lag in this game besides buying a whole new system.

Please post it so other confused new simmers out there can understand that the system requirements on the boxes are a lie

If you have a system which has little or no lag please post the system specs here so other people can see what PC's is needed to fully enjoy this game.
