I would freak out if I saw that in my game. I did that dress thing and got it so I'm happy about that. Then I tried to rush a body mesh just to see how it would look in game but it's so lumpy...

Worse has happend to me (as you see here;) lol the body builder debacle was awesome) The great thing about doing it by the TUT's is you always back up after each step, so you dont have to start fresh each time over and over. I am looking forward to your first upload!

Thanks, Arialonomus.

I'm thinking about trying my hand at meshing once I get the Sims2 basegame again.

Several questions:
-If I have inadvertantly created an "exploding" mesh, how much damage would be caused to the game?
-If the damaged caused by an "exploding" mesh did damage the game to the point of having to reinstall, would it affect any other users on the computer?
-What are the sympthoms of damage caused my "exploding" meshes?
-How can I tell if the damage is serious?

An exploding mesh will only affect the mesh/sim using it. I have never heard of anyone needing to reinstalling after an explosion, so no worries. I have had tons, (and I mean it) and so have other creators. The 'symtoms' are exactly what I post here (see post 11). The body is distorted and becuase the body is distorted, the animations are too. The only "seriousness" about a mesh explosion is how hard you can laugh at what you got. Smiley Dont be intimidated, its fun to do. Good luck!

And just so you feel better I will post another. This is what happend after I tried to use poser and import with meshtool.

Apparently, exploding meshes can happen if you delete something you shouldn't do (i.e, the vertices, that kind of thing).

I got one too, something I was working on with BlooM's feet - note to all you meshers out there, remember when importing meshes to rename the groups properly:

He's working okay now Wink

I have been working on an alpha mesh. I have the parts and comments in milkshape down, but I have been trying to give the recolor the transparency it need so if you want to black out the alpha it will dissapear on the body.

I changed a setting in material defintion/ pluginview/cmaterialdefinition in simpe from SimSkin to SimSkinMaterial...it was probably a bad thing to touch :tard: this is what I got

  Man.. that reminds me of those glitches I have from time to time.  It's a hoot seeing random flashing red sims with detached heads walk by your lots sometimes.

I am and still are intimidated by meshing tools, even photoshop. I hope by early next year that I will have actually sat down and try to learn somthing. Six years of sims and not once have I made anything usefull. Simming people is nice, but personally I feel meshing is the next step I need to take, especially before the apocalypse of sims 3 rolls around. Thanks for posting your trial and error accounts Mixd.

I've seen a few of these before, but some of them are really wild!

Here's a problem I ran across when making my Lean Bodybuilder.  Don't know what happened here, but luckily I was able to fix it.  Even his legs got screwed up.
