Hi!
So...
I decided to purchase the Deluxe eddition and unitstalled my base game which was the only game I had.  Now I'm trying to re-download complete sims that I had before with just the base game but now I'm getting the missing required expansion pack nonsense.  Is there something I need to download to fix this?

Are you talking about Sims 2 Deluxe?

Yup.
When I unistalled the sims 2 I forgot to move my downloads folder out so I lost all the Complete sims that I downloaded.  When I went back to download them...many of them base game compatable i can't install with the sims 2 deluxe.

Ah, I get it. Use Clean Installer to install them instead of the built in Maxis one.

Here's a link to a post I made with a link to the Clean Installer and some brief instructions.

Oh...where can I find clean installer?
and will it erase other things I've downloaded?

But I should add that anything the Sim is using that came with an EP you don't have won't show up, but you'll still end up with the same facial structure.

No, all the Clean Installer will do is to install your Sims. I mean, it does more than just that, but it won't erase anything.

if you already had TS2 why did you buy TS2 Deluxe? all you had to do was buy Nightlife and you'd have the exact same thing *is very confused*
