I know it's hack related, it has to be, but I'm just not sure which one, and I've check most of my hacks for compatibility to find that they are up-to-date and removed those that are questionable (thanks to the Squinge post over at inteen).

The check in bug was found here, and removing that hack should help when I manage to get to the lot, but I was wondering what else might be keeping me from loading the lots without having to do a downloads search that would be rather extensive and time-consuming.

I've tried to understand the hack diff tool to no avail, but I really can't stand the thought of going through all the hacks yet again... The ones that dealt with community lots I removed (sleeping at them, for instance), what else would possibly be a culprit?

Run Jase's ModList98/XP and attach the results to a post.  If you can easily take out Bodyshop items, custom objects and recolors do that.

This program will list all the mods and custom content you have.  Seeing what you have might help identify what mods are conflicting.

Well... wow...

Erm... this list is embarrassingly long.

Also, I do run SimWardrobe's conflict detector utility upon every download, so I know it's something I have that's simply conflicting with BV, I just am not sure what...

Or am I just stupidly maxed out on downloaded files? I try to clean house every once and a while (delete the older clothes that I know I don't use, etc.)

Just going nuts that I can't use both BV and the hacks that I'm so used to, the game isn't the same without them, and my guesswork so far has been fruitless.

ummm...Let's do this again, but first download Clean Installer or Delphy's Download Organizer and organize your files.  Either of those programs will sort your files by "Type", that is, clothing, recolors, walls, etc.  Make some folders with those Type names, and fill them up.  In Clean Installer, there will be one "Type" that has no name.  Those would be mods.

After you got your folders organized, run modlist again.  I might be able to find something then Cheesy

  I'm glad to know that clean installer has the same functions, Delphy's download organizer just doesn't work for me (not sure why, never has launched after the initial startup.)

I'll do that and repost, many many thanks, as the BV comm lots still aren't loading, and I've deleted everything I can think of as being the cause.

ETA: Okay, so the blank ones are hacks, what are the pink ones or red ones?  (Using Clean Installer)

Red ones are mods that change game behavior (mods).  Not necessarily bad.  Pinks are duplicate files you have.  One can be safely deleted.

flameflash, believe me, we all miss our favorite mods when new EP's come out. But honestly, a new EP means new items and new interactions, etc.. Take your Downloads folder out. Spawn a fresh game. (Of course you have backed up your real game to a safe place first!) Play a few hours without hacks or custom content, see what's new. You may just be suprised at how much fun the game can be without cc and hacks. At some point in time put your skins, clothes and custom hair and genetics in. There, now yoy have a rough idea of what you just bought. You have your normal cc to enjoy. Now wait patiently for the game mods \ hacks to be either approved as ok by their creator, or updated if necessary. If you follow this plan you have fun, learn what's new, and don't bork your game! Good Simming!

Wow.  Some files that I didn't even know what they were were labeled hacks (you know, the ones with random lettered/numbered ones were especially strange to find).

I just included the hacks/mods folder this time rather than everything now that I've sorted the hacks.

Those 32 character number/letter hacks can and should be deleted.  Crap picked up from downloaded lots.

You need to get the updates TJ's made for BV.  You've got several that need updated.
If poolhack is Squinge's talk while in the pool, you should probably get rid of it.  It's never worked right.  I think I saw comm-skilling is broken for BV.  Take a look at Miss Doh's post on MATY for a more complete list of squinge's mods.

I'd start by updating TJ's mods, and removing squinge's mods that don't have clean next to them on Miss Doh's list and see where that gets you.

Well, I keep trying to generate a hack diff report (followed those instructions over at MATY) and it errors out.  Would it be possible to run a hack diff from this file?

Also deleted the other random number hacks and made sure that my other stuff was updated.  It's probably an abandoned mod at this point that's causing it, be nice to get to the bottom of it.

Please let me know if I need to generate a different file somehow, mine kept cracking, not sure if it's because I have some stuff that perhaps isn't in the file at MATY or what (like Holiday Stuff).

I can't run it without downloading all of those packages.  Not gonna happen Cheesy
hackdiff may be having a problem because of the number of mods you have.  Try taking half of them out and running those, then run the other half.

Here's an interesting factor... now my vacation lots load (with much thanks to ancienthighway on where to look and how to get through the testing) but now I'm having multiple animation jumps and errors, enough errors that my saves become corrupt after playing on vacation lots.

I'm currently working with EA on this, and only using safe hacks (from what the diff tool says are safe) so now I'm really clueless as to why I can't play the vacation lots safely.

I also removed all hacks that have anything to do with animations or the modifying of them such as the ones at MATY and the game still has a tendency to error out (testingcheatsenabled) on female sims who try to check in (or do any other animations, like the local greetings.)
