can anybody help me how to identify custom content that doesnt appear in game.. so i can remove it from the downloads folder?

or are there any programs that will automatically do that?

One tool that can help you is Delphy's Download organizer which can be found at the MTS2 site.

With it you can found orphan meshes or recolors and you can also check for duplicate files.  You can also sort all your downloads by type and categorize them in subfolder.  It is a wonderful tool and quite easy to use.

Most of the time, the reason why cc are not showing is either because:

a) they require the CEP color enabler program because they are Maxis recolors (can be found at MTS2 too)
b) you have a mesh only with no recolors
c) you have recolors but not the mesh that goes with it.
d) you do not have the EP for them to show (which means you do not have the Maxis mesh) or it is no longer compatible with the latest EP you install.
