Am I the only one who does not have a trash bin in CAS I went to delete some skin and such and found no trash bin anywhere :angryfir:. Can anyone help me figure this out or is it something Maxis did?

Well that was really a stupid thing for them to do. Why would they do something like that ? Maybe if we are lucky they will put it back in with a patch. I can't delete some of my clothes. I wonder why some of us has can delete some of there thing while others can't ?

It is stupid but it's probably just so you don't delete something that is permantly on your sim, like eyes or skintones. Smiley

But you can only delete Custom content, you've never been able to delete default skins, eyes etc.

These were custom skins, I was having trouble with my bodybuilder skins and clothes since BV and wanted to remove them. I was able to find some but not all of them.

I haven't checked, but I heard that even though you can't delete in CAS, you still can in Bodyshop.

I'm also having missing trash bins in the Cas, some but not all and I'm about ready to start yanking my hair off. :angryfir: No one had answered to this thread in a while, so I was wondering if someone has found a solution or a patch for this problem? I really need to delete things and it's so frustrating when I can't. Yes, I know that I can use clean installer but it's not the same. :icon9:

'Cas' as a 'Cas Screen', the place that comes up in the game, when you go to create a sim or a family. There are trash bins for everything, like skins, eyes, make up and accessories, clothes, etc. Since Bon Voyage, some of those trash bins are missing and its really annoying. :-(

Yeah this is the same with me, can only delete hair and clothes, which is useful, but I do miss the other trash cans. I have just been deleting skins/make-up etc through Sims2Pack Clean Installer. Guessing Maxis didnt want us having them trash cans anymore, cant see why.

technically speaking CAS is "Create A Sim", a part of Body Shop; the corresponding part in-game is "Create A Family" and "Create A Student" (Uni EP only)

I think MAYBE in the unpatched version of The Sims 2 base game only it MAY have said Create A Sim originally (I may be remembering the beta version, so bare with me) -- but for reasons of convenience CAS became the common usage for both Body Shop's Create A Sim and The Sims 2's Create A Family fairly early on.

Another contributing reason is that in the game's core files /casie/ and /cas/ are used for both (you'll need to see these in SimPE to understand).

Anyway, it is a confusing thing for new players to have to learn a wide range of arbitrary acronyms like TXMT and unfamilar terms like "Material Definition" (which are the same thing); I have been at this for 3 years now and even I have to ask what some of these things mean, so I can sympathise with the new players' confusion.
