okay, well I downloaded Bon Voyage and when I went to play it, all of my custom hacks and buy/build mode stuff was gone!

it was a lot of stuff, and I don't entirely know where to download it all again...

is there a way I can get it all back?

it all shows up in my download folders but not in game...

go to settings and check that your cc is displayed when the game comes on, if it is then when the game comes on enable cc then exit. Reload game and it should display now. If it's not ticked then tick the little box save then exit. Now follow above steps this should work

You should have backed up your Sims 2 folder. When I uninstalled BV, the entire Sims 2 folder was deleted. Luckily, I had copied it. The only thing I can suggest is to do a system restore and restore it back to a point before installing BV.

Take out your downloads folder. Restart BV.  Close out of the program.  Put your downloads folder back in.  Restart.  See if this works. If you don't have your CC yet, close out and restart again.

Here is what I had ot do to get my CC ot show up in game.

Go to my downloads Sims2 folder
Cut the downloads folder and place it on my desktop do not copy and paste it will not work
I also did this with my saved sim file as some were not showing up

The close sims 2 file access and open body shop.
Let it open all the way once it is done close it do nothing else.

Then go back to the sims 2 file and open it bodyshop should have created a new downloads folder. Open the Downloads folder on your desktop and copy and paste the files into the new downloads folder.

If body shop created a bew saved sims folder do the same if not copy and paste the one on the desktop into the sims2 folder

Now start the game make sure CC is enabled and all that and see if it is there is not close an re-start.

I had to do this for my game now I am happy finding my lost CC

okay well these seemed to help, I have them all back but...
I think one of my hacks is kind or interferring with BV

I can't try different lodging, I will click on the option, and a little message will come up saying a shuttle will be dispatched, and than either the shuttle never comes or it just passes by the lot.

Inteenimater will interfere with shuttles, walk to, etc because it's not available for BV yet.  The BV Help forum has several threads with this problem that have other mods/hacks identified as causing this problem also.

why do you care?  for some odd reason many people these days say they downloaded something instead of saying they installed it

which drives me nuts cause there is a big difference between the two actions...

Some people use ELink to download from the EA store.

But the actuel problem is not if he/she meant installing or not, the question is has he/she ilegally downloaded it. Cause I don't think that people are saying "downloading" and meaning "installing" .I think most of them actually do mean that they "downloaded" it.
And I didn't see that BV was already available on EALink, I always thought it'd come out later.

Actually people do mix up the install and download thing on too many occassions.
Not just for this game, but for many things. I have seen it on many help forums and tech forums. Though I must be honest I rarely see anyone make a comment about it. Well that is not true it gets done a lot in the Sims community. Wonder why?

Oh and the EA link was actually available before the game was even released.
So it is quite possible they downloaded it from there the day it came out.

I am going to make an assumption here in regards to why no one answered the question. Maybe people figure it is really not up to them to Police the neighborhood and go after people for downloading anything.
After all  would it really change anything? Make a difference somehow?
It also would mean you would be assuming they downloaded it from someplace other then EA. Who are we as fellow players to Judge other players? isn't there enough Judging as it is in this community? Heck for that matter in the world.

I agree with Netza.

A member of this board shouldn't freely admit they download the games, but if they accidentally slip, it doesn't mean its time for the inquisition.

Besides, before anyone judges someone who may or may not have downloaded an expansion.. they better check and make sure they don't have a few mp3's they didn't pay for on their drive.. or perhaps a few pictures they snagged from a website. Smiley
