maxis content corrupted?

yesterday, i had to reinstall all of my games and stuff packs (i have uni, nl, seasons, and all the stuff packs except teen style) and now i'm having the odd problem of some of my nightlife body shop content showing up with the white background and random strings of letters and lines covering it, the same pattern that shows up when default skins are installed incorrectly, if you know what i mean. i already patched all of the games, and this is only expansion pack that content has gone wacky on. i haven't opened the game yet (this has me sort of paranoid) so i don't know if the issue extends also to my nightlife objects, but body shop is pretty borked. it is only the nightlife content that's doing this, and it isn't even all of it, just most. help, please?

Are there any scratches on your nightlife disc?

yes, i got it secondhand after a friend went up to OFB awhile ago. the second cd was so scratched that i had to nick a copy of it from somewhere online. do you think it would help to reinstall NL with a clean version?
