i know you can recolor with the gimp, can i do the same thing with Photoshop??

and which one do i edit?
alpha 3, alpha 5, or the one that doesnt have alpha in the file name?

you can use photoshop.
you edit all that you need.
the black&white one is the alpha. you must make edits to all the alphas.
otherwise the hair would have bits missing.
