Did you install anything new between yesterday (when it worked fine) and today (now that its freezing). CC usually doesn't cause the game to freeze though, in my experience...

My guess would be that you are having some kind of hardware issue with your computer. Have you noticed if your computer is running really hot? Or do you have any other games or things you do on your PC that cause it to freeze? (Like trying to play a video or something else that is video or memory intensive)

I found that sometimes, when my game is acting up like that, deleting the Accessory.cache, Groups.cache and Cigen.package from the Sims 2 file helps. They tend to get corrupted so easily. :icon_smi:

my computer has done that a couple of times and I've done the same thing that you've done. usually it was something that I downloaded (a hack) that wasn't compatible with my system so I would just remove it and everything would go back to normal.Smiley But then I noticed also my game would run better if I got certain updates from Windows. it also helps to run your game in a window cause with me if I run the game in the regular mode it runs slow.I hope I've helped some:)

To run in a window, change the start up target (found on the icon on the desktop under properties) by adding a -w at the very end of the existing string.  The -w should no be within the quotation marks.

Sorry, I'm so late I forgot to check back with this thread:) Is there any way you can move the window down some, but leave just enough space so u can just barely see the x and minimize buttons, but you can still click on them. The downloads that's gonna be the biggest headache, you'll have to go in to your downloads folder and look around. Try and remember the last thing you downloaded,  If it was a hack or custom content. Then start deleting stuff. If all else fails, you may have to remove your downloads folder and put it in a different area on your computer then a few at a time add stuff back into you game. I hope I've helped some.Smiley

The same thing is happening to me.  I have already deleted these files in the ea games folder.  I removed any recently downloaded files...still crashed.  Then I started removing folders by groups and putting them back in 1-by-1.  I got it to stop crashing.  The files were ones that I had for a long time, so i re-downloaded cuz I thought they might have become corrupt.  My game still crashes with them in. Could this be a simple matter of TOO MUCH custom content?  Any help is appreciated.  I am about to pull my hair out!
