This is an imaginative reconstruction of a motte-and-bailey castle. These castles were first seen in Normandy and England in the 11-th century. The castle consists of a wooden tower on an earth mound connected to a bailey or courtyard.

The courtyard known as the bailey contains the stables, great hall, kitchens, chapel and two peasant huts.

A wooden tower stands on the motte or mound which has been made by piling up earth excavated from the ditch. The tower, which can only be entered at first-floor level by a ladder, contains the lord's living-room, with sleeping chambers above and a cellar below.

I have tried to keep the lot as close to the period as possible, so therefore you will find no electronic devices such as TV, computer, fridge, fire alarm etc on this lot. To maintain the historical accuracy you might like to download the Fade Industries "Seasoned" Pantry from http://djssims.com/, "which is a specially modified fridge that will only allow you to store home grown fruits and veggies, or fish caught from the pond. Additionally, it does not come with any food like every other Maxis fridge."
