Not bad, not bad. *smells potential*
While I have a tendency to describe everything, you let the pictures tell the story. That gets a "PROPS" sign from me.

I woke up today in someone's home. It wasn't Jacob's. So where the hell was I? I exited the room I woke in and found myself in a hallway with a staircase at the end. I made my way slowly down the stairs, not knowing who would be at the bottom.

When I reached the lower level, there was a redheaded women to my right painting, as well as a redheaded man to my left, cooking what smelled like pancakes.

Huh?: "You're awake! Finally! We were beginning to think you were seriously hurt." The woman ran up to me, practically dropping her paint onto the floor and grabbed me by the shoulders. She had a thick Southern accent.

Amber: "Uhhh, yeah I'm fine...I hope you don't mind me asking but, who are you?"
Huh?: My apologies. I'm Jillian, Jillian Penince. And over there's my brother, Nathan. Oh! And breakfast's just about done, so come have a seat and I'll fix you up somethin' to wear afterwards."

I sat down at the table with the two strangers. Jillian explained how she and her brother moved down to Arizona when their parents died, and then back up to Missouri where they are now. Jillian just never dropped the Southern accent she picked up. Nathan on the other hand, had not even the slightest hint of an accent. His words were clear, what little he actually spoke. I introduced myself as Amber Venn and as I was going tp explain my reason behind introuding on them last night, Jillian pulled me away from the table and into another room. Hers, I presumed.

Jillian: "You just have yourself a look through that there dresser and pick out something nice."

After I'd pick out clothes that fit my liking, I braided my hair into a side pony-tail as Jillian walked over to me.
Jillian: "Why, you look prettier than the stars at night in all their glory."
Amber: Umm, thank you.
I tried to smile.

Jillian continuoulsy pulled me around her house, telling me all sorts of stories from when Nathan and she were children. She eventually brought me outside and we sat out on the front porch and talked...more.

Jillian: "...And since our parents died, Nathan hasn't been himself. He used to be a successful chef, but he lost all interest in cookin' for money when ma and pa went to Heaven. I know he's still himself deep down, 'cept now he's got some weird fixation on outer space and them stars so high above. Well, enough about our experiences, what brought you here?"

As I tried to explain what had happened to me, my eyes fell upon Nathan. I tried to imagine him talkative, and confident standing over a stove with one of those white chef's hats. I couldn't. He didn't seem the type to show much emotion.

Amber: "Where do I even begin...?"

Amber: "About a week ago, I was staying at my boyfriend, Jacob's home about three hours from here. We've been on and off again numerous time because of...issues."

Amber: "So, I was playing the piano in his recording room and he walked in and listened to me play, I lost tract of how long he stood in the dorrway, just listening to me."

Amber: "Eventually he came over to me and got on his knees. He whispered in me ear and then picked me up."

Amber: "He carried me all the way upstairs to his room and laid me down on the bed."

Amber: "Everything was so romantic, for a while. Then he became, almost angry. Overly aggresive and he ended up throwing me off the bed."

Amber: "He stood on my ankles and I couldn't get him to let go as he bent over and kissed me roughly. His hands gripped my wrists as i twisted and tried to break his grip. Once I finally did, I grabbed my clothes and, almost falling down the stairs, managed to put them back on, then ran. I ran like hell."

Amber: "You'd be amazed how one can run in heels when you're scarred for your life. So I kept running. Out the front door, down the lawn and off his property. I heard his front door slam open and he screamed my name and swore he'd hunt me down and get me back. I had no idea where I'd run to, but I knew I had to get away.  After what felt like hours later, I stopped in a wooded area and rested."

Amber: "I held my head as I tried to rethink what had happened. Again. Running from Jacob. Again. Yet this time, I felt different. I knew then, that never again would I fall for his trickery. I'd never go back to Jacob. Never."

whew, long update. Feedback is always appriciated.

Jillian couldn't believe Jacob had done what he did to me. She seemed like she was ready to punch someone in the face.

Jillian: "Oh, you poor thing. Well, don't you worry now, you're safe here, with friends."
She smiled and so I did I when she said 'friends', and then hugged me.

Then she got up and said she had some errands to run, and that she'd be back in about an hour. So it was Nathan and I. "This", I thought, "isn't going to be very exciting." But I tried to make the best of it, so I walked up to him, hoping to get a conversation out of the gesture.

Amber: "Hey, Nathan. So, umm, what're you doing...?"
Nathan: "Fishing. Are you blind? Can you not see that?"

Amber: "Yes, I CAN see that, but I was just wondering..."
Nathan: "I really don't care. Go away."

Well that backfired. Big time. So, I left him alone.

Dinner was the same that night. Jillian and I chatted away about random topics and Nathan...

Nathan said nothing. I was starting to think he might be mad at me for bothering him earlier, so after dinner I decided to find him again and attenmp to talk to him, again.

I found him on the upstairs porch, stargazing. I stood there watching him for maybe 5 mintues when he finally spoke.
Nathan: "How long must you stand there for?
Amber: "Oh, so you DO speak? Huh, I was starting to think you'd gone mute."
At this remark, he spun around and got close to me and I could feel his breath on my face.

Nathan: "You know nothing about me, how can you say I'm mute!?"
Amber: "Because, this is most you've spoken to me in the past two days that I've been living with you, in the same home!"

Nathan: "Did you think that I didn't WANT to talk to you!? I don't even want you here! Let alone to talk to you."

Amber: "Fine Nathan! Next time I'm at risk of dying, I'll make sure not to come to your house for help!!"
And with that, I turned away and went back into the house.

I've never been the type of person to hold a grudge, and after laying in bed for what felt like hours, I had to go back and talk to Nathan.

As I walked down the hall and eventually into his room, I braced myself for the worst.

I saw Nathan relaxing in his bed, and he didn't seem a bit bothered by our argument earlier. but when he saw me, his face turned sour and he sprang off of his bed.
Nathan: "Ever heard of knocking? Try it next time."
Amber: "If you're going to be continuosly negative towards me, I won't even waste my time apologizing to you."
Nathan: "Why would you apologize to me?"
Amber: "Because I feel like I should..."

Nathan: "Well, don't. There's no reason for you to waste your breath."

Nathan: " 'Cause I'm the sorry one."
For some reason, seeing his smile for the first time, and feeling his arm on my shoulder made me feel like he was sorry, but then why the hell was he such a jerk before!?

Nathan: "I want to show you something..."
He told me to follow him and we walked over to a corner of his room to an end table that had a vase and a portrait on it. That's where he knelt down and said to me...

Nathan: "Look at the picture, and tell me who you see."
I was not prepared for who I found staring back at me...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I couldn't speak. My vocals chords had frozen, so I jumped to my feet, holding my heart as if I seen a ghost. Well, more like a clone...
Amber: "Sh...she looks..."
Nathan: "She looks a lot like you."

Amber: "Yeah, it's like, looking in a mirror. Who is she?"
Nathan: "...My mother."
WHAT!? His mother!?
Amber: "But she died..."
Nathan: "That's why I keep her picture. And when you arrived, you reminded me so much of her, I wanted nothing to do with you. I'd finally gotten over her death and you showing up brought back memories I didn't want."

Nathan: "And for that, I'm sorry. I don't hold anything against you, i'll be fine tomorrow, but I couldn't stand to look at you without you knowing why."
Amber: "It's okay, I mean, it's not really your fault."
After we'd talked for a bit, we both decided it would be best to sleep and let everything soak in, so we did.

The next morning, I lay outside on the bench in the fresh air as Nathan walked out to get the mail. I figured he hadn't seen me and wasn't planning on talking to me after what happened last night. That's why I was surprised when he came over and sat next to me.

Nathan: "Amber, tomorrow the town's holding their yearly dinner dance at the Town Hall and Jillian and I always go, so do you want to come with us? It'd be a great way for you to meet new people, you know?"
Amber: "Yeah, I'll go, that'd be nice."
Nathan: "Alright, be ready at five tomorrow, or we're leaving without you, just playin'."
And he smiled.

He got up to go back inside, but before he did, he did something un-Nathan-like.

He hugged me. Then went back inside. And not five mintues after he left, Jillian came out and started talking to me.

Jillian: "Amber! I almost forgot to tell you! We're headin' up to the Town's Dinner Dance tomorrow, and you're welcome to come with!"

Amber: "Thank you, and I will come. But Nathan's already asked me, so uhhh, yeah."
Jillian: "HUH!? Nathan asked to the dinner dance!?"
Her voice turned down to a whisper.
Jillian: "Men don't ask ladies to that there dance unless they're plannin' on makin those ladies their new arm candy, if you catch my drift Amber..."
I couldn't speak, so my mouth just hung open.

Jillian: "Well what do you look so surprised about, hon? Couldn't 'cha tell Nathan has the hots for ya?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cheesy woohoo, 'nother update.
