It's not technically Sims help, but it's diretly related to the Sims.

I followed this tutorial for deleting sims, but I got halfway through and am now stuck.
I asked on the thread but as of yet have not received an answer.

I prepped a bunch of Sims for deletion and after downloading SimPE I had no idea where to find the options needed.  I tried using the same version as Pescado but it wouldn't work on my computer.
I then found an option in SimPE that seemed like it might work.

Under Neighborhoods, I found 'Family Information' and when a household is selected it displays people there, the money, number of family friends, etc.
Near the top there is a key that says 'delete' so I deleted all EAxian families/groups.  I also did this for sims who had not been 'prepped for delete' in a second neighborhood.

So now my two questions:
1. Will this work?  Is my game safe from gradual implosion if I do this?
2. If not, can someone who understand SimPE dumb down this tutorial for me or even possibly help me step-by-step via a messenger such as Yahoo?

Please and thank you!

What you did will not work and will probably have bugged up your game. You might want to restore your neighborhood from a backup (I hope you backed it up before trying to delete them!!) I know this from personal experience when I first started messing with SimPE a long time ago.

I'm at work, so I can't follow along with that tutorial right now, but if i have time when I get home I can try to see if I can explain the steps better >.<

Thank you, Pandasan.
And yes, I did back up the neighborhood before doing that.
I should have a backup of the other one from the last time I played.  *crosses fingers*

I will fix this right away!

Now I'm wondering...what would happen if I packaged the families after restoring the neighborhoods?  Could I then completely delete those towns and download the clean templates or use 'delete all characters' then move the families in again from the packages?  Or would that be a bad idea/also crash my game after a while?

Yeah, you should be able to do that. That's probably a lot easier than cleaning up the neighborhoods yourself!

So, just package the houses up, exactly like they are in-game after restoring it?
I can do that.

Will they keep memories and and family ties outside the household?
Family ties, at least, memories don't matter as much.

ETA: I have a back-up!
I backed up my entire Neighborhoods folder before trying anything.

ETC:
Well, lots are all packages up.
I downloaded the clean templates and am 75% certain I can do this correctly so I'm going for it.  Right after I install FreeTime.
