i was just deleting some stuff in my custom content folder and i noticed that the names of some of it was blue. any ideas what this means?

If you mean in your folder they were written in blue, it is usually read-only files that are showing in blue letters.

Usually files in blue lettering appear after you've compressed old files on your hard drive during a disk cleanup.
