Newer, faster, more efficient. Technology keeps changing ever faster, almost on a daily basis it seems. And we struggle to keep pace with it.
We we're not the only ones. The power needed to generate this newer, faster and more efficient tech began to struggle. Power fluxes we commonplace. But their duration kept increasing, as did their quantity. Until 2021, the term "Dark Ages" was applied to a medieval time in history. But now, it was applied to this time.
Clear-cutting had been outlawed since 2013. During the next few years, most everything the could once be read in hardcover was now bits of data floating somewhere in cyberspace. Sadly, no matter what speed you had, the internet was like Monday morning traffic all the time. Plus, few people could not run their computer anymore, because it would short out their home and rob them of power for the more needed appliances, like fridges and freezers.
To cope, many began to forgo technology in favor of doing things manually. They would walk or bike, instead of taking the car; they would dig out granddad's old push mower, instead of filling their John Deere at $7.23 a gallon; they would play games on a board, instead of plugging in a game; they rediscovered the ancient art of reading books.
In the pages of a book at the few libraries in existence, six people who never met before, came across an old book, never uploaded into the net. Each read it at different times on separate days, but then they became united by what was in it context. For in it, were chapters on Earth, Fire, Air, Water, Light and Shadow. But hidden in the text, was a spell that gave each of them the power of the element which they had read.
Now to restore the balance, they must use their power to usher in a new age, where magic replaces technology. But this was tried before, in the original Dark Ages. Will their fate be as those who practice such things in that time? Will magic prevail in a time of technological wonder...Will you have fun with these sims? Only you can decide.

I'm assuming these are all original characters, in which case I love it! Very inventive, and the characters are beautiful. Definitely going into my game!
