What downloads do I need?

I just got Sims2 Double Deluxe and I'm planning on borrowing the other EPs from a friend then getting Free Time and K&B soon after. Now I've read that there are/were problems with those two and prior Eps so I wanted to know what I need to download and when, when I install each EP. I looked through the posts and stickys, but got completely confused.

Also, my friend, when she had Sims2 installed in her computer before it broke she had a cheat or download enabled where if you right clicked on a sim it gave you a varity of choices such as making your sim be in love/marry/etc another sim of your choice, making their needs at 100% perminantly and also to choose how to kill a sim if you wished. She however doesn't remember how she did this. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

And what exactly does inSimenator do?

Also, if I wish to download the pregnancy for all and same sex marriage mods at what stage of downloading would I do that?
